Once-Thoughts

by Riles

Physical sickness now succeeds all mental,

And so written words only make worse his condition.

Once, they did all the thought for him; a truly wild, though absolutely worthwhile, vigil.

Upon finished verse, I remember him feeling as if he embodied all existent ambition.

Or would feel, at least, a kind of contentment...

The transition into morning quickly grew violent and unforgiving...

As did the apathies surrounding his very being there.

While the endless compositions summoned countless apparitions of a time since buried,

The inspiration--once gained from eyes mohaganized--turned to fear.

Once-thoughts; suspended in the air.
